This is part 2 of Kent's 9-part video series on servicing and repairing the power sunroofs on the 1980 to 1985 W123, W126, and W201. This video will cover ONLY those issues related to the sliding roof panel.
You must inspect the sway bar, especially if the car has been subjected to road salt. Kent will explain in more detail in the video below.

Look for wetness around the back side of your tail lights as well as old streaks of white. These seals will leak when they are old.

You will receive two specialty drill bits and a modified star socket, along with very detailed video instructions on how to use these tools to remove a damaged head hex bolt without damaging the door frame or the old striker.

Rusty, pitted metal can be pretty ugly, even if you paint over it. If you try to fill it with regular Bondo, that will not work long-term.
These are the forward trailing arm bushings that connect the arms to the rear subframe. When these bushing get old or start to crack and break apart, you may hear noises in the back and the rear end may want to steer the car on its own.

In this video, Kent will show you the tricks of getting the front sunroof seal installed without pulling your hair out. It will require the tool shown that is included with the purchase of the front seal.
In this short video, Kent will demonstrate how to prep the sunroof if there is rust in the seal area and how to install a new rear seal using the tool, lubricant, and glue provided in his kit. PLEASE NOTE: The sunroof panel has to be removed from the car.
